About Dr Patrick Lim

Dr. Patrick Lim is an orthopaedic spine surgeon with expertise in all spine-related areas, including both adult and paediatric deformity surgery, with a particular focus

on scoliosis, minimally invasive degenerative spine surgery, and robotic spine surgery. He is proficient in techniques for accessing the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions of the spine through multiple approaches.
 

Born and raised in Newcastle, NSW, Dr. Lim graduated from the University of Newcastle Medical School. He furthered his education by obtaining a Master of Surgery from the University of Sydney and completed his orthopaedic surgical training through the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
 

Dr. Lim has enhanced his skills through multiple spine fellowships at prestigious institutions, including New York University Hospital in New York and Prince of Wales

Hospital in Sydney, gaining world-class experience in all aspects of spine surgery.


Currently, Dr. Lim serves as a consultant surgeon at Prince of Wales and Sydney Children's Hospitals in Sydney. In the private sector, he operates at several hospitals, including Prince of Wales Private Hospital and Lingard Private Hospital. He also sees patients at his offices in Sydney Orthopaedic Specialists, Randwick, and The Orthopaedic Clinic, The Junction.

Please arrive at your appointment 10 – 15 minutes before your appointment. You will be required to fill in a new patient form and may asked to fill in a web-based survey for ongoing research projects.

At your first appointment, please remember to bring:
 

  • Medicare or Veterans’ Affairs card

  • Referral from your GP, family physician or other doctor

  • Health fund membership card

  • X-rays and any other scans

  • If you have seen a physiotherapist, please bring a progress letter from your therapist

  • If you have had surgery elsewhere, please bring a copy of your operation report
